My name is Carrie. I was born and raised in Council Bluffs, IA but moved to Colorado Springs, CO in July of 2004 to study Graphic Design at Pikes Peak Community College. With my furball friends in toe (Dexter, a tabby cat rescue from Council Bluffs Humane Society and Halo an inherited stray) I set out to explore the beauty and fun the mountains had to offer.
In 2006 I began working at an art gallery in Old Colorado City as a sales associate and eventually became the Assistant Director, assisting in overseeing all operations of the gallery. While the gallery was a perfect setting for my background in art, my personal time was and is dedicated to my truest passion: animals. In recent years my husband and I extended our furry family with the addition of rescue dogs, Ollie, a Labrador/Pitbull mix and Chino, an American Staffordshire Terrier.
Puppy classes, long hikes, dog park adventures, vet visits and a lot of cuddling with my animals has been such a great teacher for me. Earning an animals respect and trust is such a gift. Learning an animals language and understanding their needs is skill all of us pet lovers should aspire too.
I am really happy to be part of the PAWfect team and am also Pet First Aid Certified. I look forward to meeting your animals, it's a my honor to be able to care for your pets when you cannot.
